The Dimensions of Minecraft

The Minecraft world is a beautiful place, but the Overworld is not the only part of it. It also has two separate dimensions, called the Nether and The End. It will take all your skill to survive in these terrible places.

The Overworld

The Overworld is where every player starts their adventure. It is a beautiful but dangerous place containing a large number of mobs, blocks, and biomes. During the day, it is paradise. But when night falls, everything changes. Hostile mobs start spawning, and will target the player. These mobs can also be found deep below the surface, in large, forbidding caverns where darkness reigns. From the Overworld, the player can journey into new biomes and terrifying new dimensions.

The Nether

The Nether is the next step in the player's adventure. It can only be accessed by a portal made of obsidian, which can be lit with a flint and steel or a fire charge. Obsidian can only be mined with a diamond pickaxe, so it will take a while to get there. The Nether is a hellish dimension with no sky, home to a variety of tough mobs, that could kill a player easily if they're not prepared. Despite its hostile environment, the Nether is home to many incredible resources, biomes, and structures, including Nether fortresses, which players must find if they want to brew potions.

The End

The End is the ultimate challenge. To get there, the player must find a stronghold by throwing Eyes of Ender, and repair its broken portal using Eyes of Ender. By jumping through, the player will find themselves in the End, which consists of a number of rocky islands hovering over the Void. The thing they will first notice is the massive amounts of Endermen and the tall obsidian pillars. But by looking closer, they'll see that there's something else: The Ender Dragon. The only way to get home alive is to defeat it, which is made difficult by End crystals on top of the obsidian towers, which will slowly heal the dragon as it takes damage. But if the player manages to slay it, they will be given access to the outer islands, where they will find large cities, sometimes with a ship near them. Looking in the ship, they will find elytra, wings that will give them the power of flight.
