Magma cubes are hostile mobs that spawn in basalt deltas, nether wastes, and nether fortresses. A magma cube spawner also generates in every treasure room bastion. Magma cubes can spawn in any light level. When killed, small magma cubes have a 25% chance to drop 1 magma cream, while medium and large magma cubes have a 57.14% chance. In addition, if they were killed by a player or a tamed wolf, large magma cubes will drop 4 experience, medium magma cubes will drop 2 experience, and small magma cubes will drop 1 experience. A small magma cube will also drop a pearlescent froglight when killed by a warm frog, a verdant froglight when killed by a cold frog, or an ochre froglight when killed by a temperate frog.

Magma cubes behave like slimes, moving around by jumping, except they jump higher and less frequently. Larger magma cubes will have a higher jump. They will attack players and iron golems. Magma cubes come in three different sizes: Big, medium, and small. When a magma cube is killed, it will break down into 2-4 magma cubes of the next smallest size (unless the magma cube is already at its smallest size). Magma cubes are immune to fall damage and fire damage, and take extra damage from powder snow.
