Neutral Mob (Passive on Peaceful Difficulty)
Health Points: Wild: 8

                             Hard: 6

Wolves are neutral mobs that will spawn in forests, taigas, groves, old growth taigas, and snowy taigas, and also in all variants of these biomes (except for flower forests). If something attacks a wolf, all the other wolves will gang up on the attacker. When killed, a wolf will drop 1-3 experience if they were killed by a player or a tamed wolf.

All wolves will spawn as untamed wolves, and can be tamed simply by feeding a wolf bones until heart particles appear. Once a wolf is tamed, it will appear to be wearing a red collar, which can be dyed a different color by using dye on the wolf. They can be ordered to sit by clicking "Use" on them, and will not follow their owner while sitting. Clicking "Use" on them again will stand them up.

On Java Edition, wolves will automatically sit when tamed, but only if they are not swimming at the time. Tamed wolves will be passive toward their owner, even if the owner attacks them, and will teleport to them if they get too far away. Tamed wolves will attack any mob that the player attacks, and any mob that attacks the player.

The health of a wolf can be measured by the height of its tail. The higher the tail, the more healthy the wolf. The health of a wolf can be healed by feeding it meat or rotten, or, on Bedrock Edition, fish or rabbit stew.

Tamed wolves at full health can be bred by the player using any kind of meat or rotten flesh, which will reward the player with 1-7 experience. The baby wolf will take 20 minutes to grow up into an adult. The growth process can also be sped up by feeding the baby wolf any kind of meat or rotten flesh. If both of the parents had been tamed by the same player, the baby will also follow that player, but if the parents were tamed by different players, the baby wolf will randomly choose one of them to follow.

Untamed wolves will attack sheep, rabbits, foxes, and baby turtles. Tamed and untamed wolves will act hostile toward skeletons and their variants.
