Ravagers are mobs that will only spawn as part of raids, and will not spawn until wave 3. Later waves will also have ravagers with pillagers, vindicators, or evokers riding them. When killed, they will drop a saddle, and 20 experience if they were killed by a player or a tamed wolf.

Ravagers are hostile toward players, iron golems, adult villagers, and wandering traders (when ravagers see a villager and an iron golem together, they always prioritize attacking the villager, unless they are already attacking an iron golem). They attack enemies by ramming them with their heads, which will deal 5 blocks of knockback in addition to 7-18 damage, depending on the difficulty.

Ravagers can break most organic blocks (including leaves, flowers, pumpkins, and melons) by charging into them. If a ravager is accidentally hit by a pillager, it will not retaliate, and the same goes for evokers and their fangs. If they are hit by any mobs other than illagers, they will retaliate, prioritizing their attackers over anything else, including the player.

If a ravager's attack is blocked by a shield, no damage and only half the knockback is dealt. This also has a 50% chance to stun the ravager, which will make it unable to move or attack for 2 seconds. After this period, it will open its mouth and roar, dealing 6 damage and 5 blocks of knockback to any nearby mobs and players. Illagers will take no damage from the roar but will still be knocked back, and other ravagers will not be affected at all. Any non-illager hostile or neutral mobs damaged by the roar will retaliate.

If a ravager is in water and its head is submerged, it will dismount any rider it has.

In Java Edition, any ravager attacked by a player or a mob (excluding illagers or goats) will send out an alert to other ravagers to target the attacker, unless the ravager in question was killed in one hit.
