Hostile Mob
Passive Mob (Peaceful Difficulty: Bedrock Edition only)
Health Points: 24
Attack Strength: 6
Evokers are hostile mobs that will spawn in woodland mansions and in the later waves of a raid (except on Easy Difficulty), and are a type of illager. When killed, they will drop a Totem of Undying, 0-1 emeralds, and 10 experience if they were killed by a player or a tamed wolf, as well as an ominous banner (illager banner on Bedrock Edition) if they spawned with one.
Evokers are the only source of Totems of Undying, and if the player is holding one in their main hand or offhand when their health bar reaches 0, the totem will be consumed and will resurrect the player then and there, giving them 1 health point and 2 bonus absorption hearts, as well as around 40 seconds of Regeneration II, 40 seconds of Fire Resistance, and 5 seconds of Absorption II.
Evokers move around at the player's sprinting speed, and in Java Edition, they move much faster when spawned during a raid. The will attack players, adult villagers, iron golems, wandering traders, and, on Bedrock Edition, snow golems. If the player gets within ten blocks of an evoker while it is not in the middle of attacking, the evoker will flee to avoid being damaged.
Evokers have two main attacks: the first is to summon vexes, as long as their are fewer than 8 vexes within a 16 block radius of the evoker, and the second is to summon fangs. Whenever an evoker summons vexes, it will always summon three. After summoning vexes, there is a 5 second cooldown before the evoker can cast another spell, and a 17 second cooldown before it can summon vexes again.
The evoker's second attack is to summon a number of fangs that rise out of the ground around the player, then snap shut and vanish. The fangs will deal 6 points of damage to any mob that gets caught in them, regardless of difficulty. Armor cannot absorb the damage unless it is enchanted with Protection, and other illagers cannot be damaged by the fangs. Evokers typically summon a line of 16 fangs, going toward its target, but if its target is within three blocks of them, they will summon two circles of fangs around them, the smaller one consisting of 5 fangs, and the larger one consisting of 8 fangs. After summoning fangs, there is a 2 second cooldown before the evoker can cast another spell, and a 5 second cooldown before it can summon fangs again.
On Java Edition, the evoker also has a combo attack, in which it can summon two circles of fangs and vexes simultaneously, without any cooldown.
If the evoker is not in combat and it detects a blue sheep within 16 blocks of it, it will cast a spell to turn the sheep's color from blue to red. After recoloring sheep, there is a 3 second cooldown before the evoker can cast another spell, and a 7 second cooldown before it can recolor sheep again.
