Bats are passive mobs that spawn in low light levels underground. They will fly around squeaking, and will sometimes hang upside down to sleep. If the player approaches them while they are sleeping, they will wake up and fly away. They will despawn if the player gets too far away, and will not drop any items or experience when they die.
