Cat

Passive Mob
Health Points: 10
Attack Strength (Against Rabbits, Chickens, and Baby Turtles Only): 3

Cats will spawn occasionally near players, and will spawn in villages. Black cats will spawn in and around witch huts. When a cat is killed, it will drop 0-2 string, and 1-3 experience if they were killed by a player or a tamed wolf.

Cats are immune to fall damage, and creepers and phantoms will not want to come near them.

All cats will spawn as stray cats (untamed cats), and, like hostile mobs, will despawn if the player gets too far away. Stray cats will attack rabbits, chickens, and baby turtles within 15 blocks, and tend to avoid players.

The different varieties of cat.

Stray cats can be tamed by feeding them raw cod or raw salmon. Once the cat is tamed, it can be ordered to sit by clicking Use on them, and will not despawn. Tamed cats can be bred with raw cod or raw salmon, which will reward the player with 1-7 experience. If the cat has not been ordered to sit, it will follow the player wherever they go, teleporting to them if they get too far away.

When the player sleeps, their cats will move toward them and sleep near them, unless they have been ordered to sit. After the cat wakes up, there is a 70% chance for it to give its owner a gift. There are a total of 7 possible gifts, and the most common gifts are rabbit's feet, rabbit's hide, string, rotten flesh, feathers, or raw chicken. Each of these gifts have a 16.13% chance of dropping. The final gift, phantom membrane, has a 3.22% chance of dropping.
